Obviously, this is an 'At your own risk' post, because it is possible to brick your Gotek, so be sure you want to do this before pressing on. I've done the process on both drives and everything works absolutely fine I'm pleased to say. I previously had a gotek that came with a donated STFM, which had the HxC firmware installed & is marked SFRC922. This shouldn't matter, since we are reflashing it anyway. The model I bought is marked SFRC922C on the PCB, and according to the eBay listing was a 1.44Mb device. Of course! I need to share my experience with you all Having done so successfully, what else would I need to do.

It doesn't, it covers the TTL serial adapter and USB A to A cable method of flashing with FlashFloppy, installation of an OLED display, and some basic instruction on how to use the software. Its come to my attention that people arrive at this post, read the first part and assume it only discusses using a TTL serial adapter for flashing a Gotek. So if you can't find a post you may have made, please check in the new section, as all existing Gotek questions and chat from this section have been moved to the new section. Since people are going to want to ask questions, a new section has been created for that express purpose here: This has been done to keep it purely as a "how to" and not an open channel for all Gotek questions. Tell me what happens and what you did. Please note this section is now locked. Maybe if I get an IIGS CF hard drive expansion, it'll work but those are quite expensive for me. But, if it wouldn't work with disk copy, I don't feel like going through all that effort of having to put files onto a floppy, or maybe a cd and transfer it if it's not gonna work. I've been told that I should load an Apple IIGS emulator and do something with that, maybe it'll read the floppy drive and I can just copy the sys folder onto it I don't know. I might try it on another computer, but I'm too lazy rn. I've heard that I should get an image and put it through Disk Copy, but for some reason, the computer I was doing it on was being fussy and didn't want to put the image on the hard drive (I put it on a floppy disk from a pc, so I might've done something wrong) nor did it want to even load it into Disk Copy, It would just spit out the disk and ask me to insert it, but when I did, it would do that same thing, and I would eventually have to force shut down (unplug it). Hey, just here because I'm having kinda the same problem, I don't know how to write an IIGS disk, because I really want to use GS/OS.
